During the inauguration of President Donald Trump, his spouse, Melania Trump, was present alongside him; however, it remains uncertain whether she has been spending time at the White House since then.
Melania has expressed her intentions regarding her time in Washington D.C. after her husband’s election victory, stating in an interview with Fox News, “I will be in the White House. And you know when I need to be in New York, I will be in New York. When I need to be in Palm Beach, I will be in Palm Beach. But my first priority is, you know, to be a mom, to be a first lady, to be a wife. And once we are in on January 20, you serve the country.”
It is well-known that her son Barron is her foremost concern. While Trump made history as the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl, Melania was not present with him. Nevertheless, she was seen accompanying her husband to Los Angeles last month, where she offered support to victims of the wildfires. A video shared on social media captured her speaking Slovenian to a woman, which garnered significant acclaim.
“Seeing Melania so much more involved this time around is amazing,” one user commented, according to the Irish Star. Another remarked: “When we speak to people in their native tongue they feel heard, they feel listened to, they feel the love! What an incredible First Lady.”
A third user noted: “First Lady Melania Trump speaks her native language to comfort those devastated by the wildfires. Even in a ballcap, Melania shows her beauty and grace.”
Melania Trump has been largely absent from the White House during her husband’s meetings with prime ministers and other prominent political figures. A source has indicated to People Magazine that she is currently occupied with filming her Amazon documentary. The source mentioned that her absence from public life should not be surprising, as “this is how she lives,” adding that she “will never be a traditional first lady” and has “her own ideas on what she wants to do.”
Recently, Melania has only visited the White House because…In a recent interview with Fox, the First Lady shared, “I came up with the idea to create a film about my life, which I consider to be extraordinary and incredibly busy. I communicated this idea to my agent and asked them to negotiate a deal on my behalf. We began production in November and are currently in the process of filming. The film will showcase my daily life, my responsibilities, and the elements that many people are unaware of, which will soon be revealed.”
As reported by CNN, Melania attended the Governors Ball but has not participated in any formal activities related to her role as First Lady.
A source indicated, “[Donald and Melania Trump] live at Mar-a-Lago and have accommodations in the White House. However, she leads an independent lifestyle and joins him as appropriate at either location.” The source also mentioned that while in Palm Beach, she tends to maintain a low profile but occasionally dines with Donald. Author Michael Wolff, known for his critical views on the president, noted that Trump’s campaign team “was not even aware of Melania’s living situation.”
“She does not reside with him, and they spend very little time together. When she is at the White House or Mar-a-Lago, it feels as if she is a guest. Currently, she mainly lives in Trump Tower,” he stated during a podcast on the Daily Beast.
He also pointed out that at the Republican National Convention, Melania “would not sit next to him… Her only appearance on the final day was contingent upon him not being in the VIP box.”
The president has voiced his displeasure with authors and media outlets discussing his relationship with Melania, threatening legal action against those who rely on anonymous sources. While neither Donald nor Melania has responded to Wolff’s assertions, Steven Cheung, the White House communications director, firmly denounced the author.
“Michael Wolff is a dishonest individual and has been revealed as a fraud. He consistently invents stories that originate from his disturbed imagination, a condition…”Melania made a public appearance on April 1 at the Women of Courage Award Ceremony, despite many speculating about her whereabouts.
She received a warm welcome, greeted by enthusiastic applause while dressed in a leopard-print gown.
During her speech at the event, Melania expressed, “Love has motivated me to embrace forgiveness, cultivate empathy, and demonstrate courage when faced with unexpected challenges.
“Today, we honor courage — a strength rooted in love,” she continued.
The First Lady remarked, “We are privileged to be among an extraordinary group of courageous women who have exemplified love and refuse to allow fear or adversity to define their lives. Their shared accomplishments and commitment inspire us all.”
