The Frisco Police Department reported receiving a distress call at approximately 2:26 p.m. on January 25, alerting authorities to multiple juveniles injured during what had initially appeared to be a wintertime recreational activity.
First responders arrived at the scene to find a situation far more dire than anticipated. The teens, both 16, had hitched a sled to the back of a Jeep Wrangler, driven by another teenager.
In what would become a catastrophic series of events, the sled struck a curb and slammed violently into a tree. Emergency services immediately began providing aid, but the tragic reality quickly became apparent.Elizabeth Angle, a sophomore at Wakeland High School, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her best friend, Gracie Brito, remained on life support following the crash.
Despite medical efforts, Gracie passed away on Tuesday, January 27, leaving both families devastated and the community in mourning.
